The Bihor Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camera de Comerţ și Industrie Bihor) is located in the historic Okányi-Schwartz Villa in Oradea, Bihor County.
Villa Okányi-Schwartz was built by Ferenc Sztarill in 1912, following the plans of the architects Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab, who also designed the Black Eagle Palace. The owner of the building was Jakab Schwarz, a descendant of the wealthy noble Okányi-Schwartz family.
In 1918, the villa was sold and in 1924 it housed the the Bihoreana Bank for a year before the Bihor Chamber of Commerce and Industry bought the building in 1925.
The Bihor Chamber of Commerce and Industry was founded by the Commerce Hall in 1891. Due to the prosperous times in which the number of registered companies, patents, and other commercial activities in the region was growing, the institution could afford to buy its new headquarters as a second location next to the existing office in the building that now houses the Oradea Water Company.
The 1929 financial crisis caused a decline in the activities of the chamber and when the communist regime rose to power after World War II, all chambers of commerce in Romania were abolished.
In 2008, the Bihor Chamber of Commerce and Industry was re-established and in 2014, the organization moved back into the old building after it had been renovated.
