The Bartsch House (Casa Bartsch) is a historic monument on the corner of Republic Avenue and Trajan Park in the historic center of Oradea, Bihor County,
The house was built in 1888 for Sándor Bartsch following the plans of the Budapest architect János Hanzlián. The building has an Eclectic style with neo-Renaissance decorative elements and is built around an inner courtyard. In 1907, the building was bought by Sándor Ovary, who rented out the ground level to an entrepreneur from Budapest to set up a cafe. It was the 16th cafe in Oradea, which equaled the number of banks in the city.
In 1920, the successful Mormorosch Blanc Bank from Bucharest opened a branch inside the building. In 1938, the Romanian Orthodox Episcope of Oradea bought the Bartsch House for 7 million lei to build their new Episcopal Palace in its place, but this never happened due to the outbreak of World War II. Under the post-war communist regime, private banks were abolished and the ground floor of the building was transformed into a restaurant that operated there until 1992.
